Deep tissue massage is designed to relieve severe tension in the muscle and the connective tissue or fascia. This type of massage focuses on the muscles located below the surface of the top muscle. Deep tissue massage is often recommended for individuals  who experience consistent pain,  are involved in heavy physical activity, such as athletes, and patients who have sustained physical injury. It is also not uncommon for receivers of deep tissue massage to have their pain replaced with a new muscle ache for a day or two.

Deep tissue work varies greatly.

What one calls deep tissue another

will call light. When receiving deep tissue work it is important to communicate

what you are feeling.

Theraputic massage is the manipulation of the soft tissue structures of the body to prevent and alleviate pain, discomfort and muscle spasms often associated with injury to the muscle and bone structure.  This is a manual soft tissue manipulation that includes

range of motion of the joints, holding

and/or applying pressure

to the body. Overall, it will

promote a sense of healing

for the mind and body.

A relaxation massage is a

full-body treatment involving soft music, soft lighting   and aromatherapy oils. You will have a luxurious massage which will use all kinds of techniques including long strokes, gentle kneading  and rolling of skin and muscle, and rhythmic rocking from side to side. Relaxation massage is a passive treatment. This is the massage to choose if you just  want to chill out, and be pampered and spoiled.

Pregnancy massage is the prenatal use of massage therapy to support the physiologic, structural, and emotional well-being of both mother and fetus. Various forms of  massage therapy, including  Swedish, Deep Tissue,  Neuromuscular, Range of

Motion, and Oriental-based therapies, may be applied throughout  pregnancy as

well as during labor and the

postpartum period.
